← Back to How-To Teams gathered for a local cricket tournament

Every organiser knows the questions that start on Friday night. What time is our match? You can answer them one at a time, or you can post one good image to the group and go back to your dinner.

Skipper builds that image for you, from the fixtures you have already entered. It makes the same kind of picture for results at the end of the tournament. This guide covers both, and the small buttons that are easy to miss.

Share the Next Match Day in One Tap

Open your tournament and go to the Matches tab. If you are an organiser and there is a dated match coming up, a card sits at the top of the list. It names the next match day and says how many matches are on it.

Tap Share fixtures and the phone's share sheet opens straight away with the image ready. Pick WhatsApp, Instagram, or whoever needs it. Skipper remembers the look and size you used last time for this tournament, so after the first time it really is one tap.

If the plan would need more images than one share can carry, Skipper opens the full screen instead so you can narrow it down.

Share a Single Day

Scroll down the Matches tab and you will see the date headings, one for each match day. Each heading has a small share icon at its right edge. Its tooltip reads Share this day. Tap it and Skipper opens the share screen set to that one day.

This is handy when a team asks about a particular Saturday, or when you want to post each day's fixtures on the morning they are played.

Choose What Goes in the Image

Tap More next to Share fixtures to open the Share schedule screen. You get a live preview at the top, with the words “Exactly what will be shared” under it. Everything below the preview is a row you can change:

Long schedules are split across several images, and the preview tells you “Image 1 of 3” as you swipe through. If a choice would make too many, the screen says so and you can pick a shorter range.

Pick a Look

Under the preview there is a row of looks: Poster, Ticket, Daylight, and Club. Tap one, or use the arrows beside the preview to step through them. Try each one against the preview, since the same fixtures can look quite different from look to look. Skipper remembers your pick for next time.

When you are happy, tap Share at the bottom. The button tells you what you are about to send, for example how many images and how many matches.

The QR Code

If you leave QR code switched on under ON CARD, the image carries a QR code that opens the live fixtures page for your tournament. A parent who sees the picture in the group can scan it from the screen and check the match later in the day. If the schedule changes, the picture is out of date but the QR code is not.

Sharing Right After You Schedule

When you use the scheduler to create a round, Skipper asks as soon as the fixtures are saved. The message says teams will ask for the schedule, with two buttons: Share schedule and Later. Tapping Share schedule takes you to the same screen described above.

You can always find it again. The Share button in the tournament header opens a small menu, and Share schedule image in it opens the same screen.

Share the Results

Once the tournament is marked Completed, the Results tab has a Share results button. The same option appears in the Share menu in the tournament header, and Skipper may offer it to you right after you finish the tournament.

The Share results screen has a list headed WHAT TO SHARE. Tick the boxes for what you want to post:

Tap a row to preview it, and use the Story or Post switch on a row to choose its size. The bottom button counts what you picked and reads, for example, Share 3. If nothing is ticked it says Pick something.

The same looks are here, and a few more made for results. Below the preview, tap a look to try it. The champions card looks best with a team photo. Tap + Add team photo to add one, and use Change photos later if you want a better shot. Looks that use player portraits, such as Heroes, ask for photos of the star players, and Change photos is where you set them.

If a tournament is long and you would rather post one day's scores, tap Share matchday results instead to switch to the schedule screen in Results mode.

Share the Points Table Any Time

You do not have to wait for the end. On the Points Table tab of the tournament, each points table has a Share table button. If your tournament has stages or groups, the button opens the share screen on the table you are looking at. It is a good post for the halfway point of a season, when everyone is asking who is through.
